Denesoline works with the Government of the Northwest Territories to provide a Type 1 Wildland certified fire crew who work to protect the civilians and infrastructure in the North Slave Region. Denesoline Fire Fighting is committed to Aboriginal employment, and the fire crew is comprised of a team from the remote community of Lutsel K'e. The fire crew are dynamically trained, being certified in first aid and CPR, WHMIS, transportation of dangerous goods, hover exit qualification, and radio telephone operating – just to name a few. Some of the work on the fire crew include; forest fire management, community protection and hazard reduction, equipment maintenance, facility maintenance, and forest management projects.
